2019 The Great Australian Round Up

Event Description:

The Great Australian Round up is a charity event, raising money for the Burrumbuttock

280x280_2019GARU.pngHay Runners and other vital rural services and is all about supporting Australia’s vital rural industries through awareness and fundraising efforts whilst providing an exciting, unique and new element to the Tamworth Country Music Festival for both tourists and locals. The Great Australian Round Up really has a little something for everyone!

The Great Australian Round up will kick off at 8am on Saturday the 19th of January and go through until late afternoon on Sunday 20th January 2019.

Showcasing all things that are Australian country, including Exhibitions and Australian Rural and Memorabilia from the Gunnedah Rural Museum.

The Main Event will kick off at 6pm on Saturday night with Internationally renowned Guy Mclean and his incredible stock horses as seen on Australia’s Got Talent. Followed by Australia’s Elite Rodeo Athletes from Broncs and Bulls to Barrel racing in a Rodeo extravaganza. Besides the excitement of rodeo action, The Great Australian Round Up Rodeo will tell a story of the heritage of rodeo in Australia, highlighting its importance in today’s rural communities. This is a Rodeo you do not want to miss!

During the day there will also be;

- National Finals of Ranch Sorting Australia National Championship Series
- Stockman’s challenge
- Working dog trials 
- Whip cracking 
- Sheep shearing
- Ute, truck and antique machinery show
- Bush poets and live music
- Trade stalls

Plus many family attractions, such as

-Waterslides and carnival rides
- Baby farm animal petting zoo, pony rides, and did we mention a water slide!

FREE ENTRY to the Public between 8am and 4pm both days

Stabling and Camping Bookings:

Stabling and camping bookings for The Great Australian Round Up will open on Tuesday 11th December at 11.00am (daylight savings time) via Nominate - click here to make a booking.

Bump In - Friday 19th January 2019, from 9.00am - competitors are not permitted on grounds prior to this.

If you're attending both the Great Australian Round Up AND the ABCRA National Finals, please make a booking for this event only and phone the AELEC Office to extend your dates through to National Finals.

Stables - $27.50 per night (minimum 2 night stay will be charged)
Stable Cleaning Bond - $42.50 per stable - fully refundable if the stable is completely stripped of all bedding prior to departure
Powered Camping - $27.50 per night
Non-Powered Camping - $27.50 per night

Competitors please note; a charge is levied for each vehicle entering the main competitor area, this includes support vehicles. If you're only parking while you compete and then leaving the grounds, free day parking is offered via Gate 8. 

If you are planning on camping, you will need to book either a powered or non-powered camp site, horses are permitted in yards at your truck in the non-powered camping section only.

If you would like a powered camp site and want to put your horses in yards in the paddock you will need to book a powered AND a non-powered camp site, otherwise if you book a powered camp site you will also need to book stables for your horses.

Admission Prices;

Adult - $35.00
Pensioner - $25.00
Family (2Ad+2Ch) - $20 price per person must buy 4 tickets
Child 15 & Under - $20.00

A transaction fee of $2.00 (internet) or $3.00 (phone or in person) will also apply. Ticket price includes GST.
