ABCRA Senior National Finals Rodeo Round One

Round one is done and dusted. Wednesday night of the ABCRA National Finals Rodeo saw a great crowd entertained by the ABCRA’s best.

Tamworth’s Norm Stagg gave the current leader in the year end standings Heath Nichols a run for his money, taking home the nights Rope and Tie event in 11.1 seconds.

Nichole Fitzpatrick showed the crowd why she is leading the Steer Undecorating title for this year stopping the clock in 2.4 seconds.

Cliff Richardson and Dee Heinemann again placed first and second in the Bareback Bronc event. Cliff rode Cheyenne Brave to score 75 points and win the night’s event.

Tamworth’s Lauren Smith had a great night taking home the first place cheque and the victory lap on the Jack Daniels ute in the Westpac Breakaway Roping.

It's four out of four for Coonamble’s Bianca Hertel. Winning all three rounds of the Junior Barrel race and Wednesday nights first round of Ladies Barrel Race in 17.34 seconds.

Last years finals champions are again off to a great start in the Team Roping. Ben Smith and Troy O’Neile winning the first round in a fast time of 7.83 seconds.

The RM Williams Saddle Bronc was won by Sam Knight on Tracserv Eagle putting a great ride together and scoring 80 points.

The Cinch Jeans Steer Wrestling was won by North Queensland’s Mark Gibb in a hot time of 5.47 seconds.

Duncan Elks rode Navaho and scored 82 points to win the crowds favourite event the Jack Daniel’s Bull Ride.
