A 660 seat sale ring is interconnected to the indoor arena and is part of the stadium. There is standing room for another 400 on the concourse level overlooking the sale ring and ample standing room at the floor of the ring.
One of the main features of the sale ring is that the main indoor arena and undercroft yards feed directly into the sale ring. It means the stock are not exposed to the elements and they can be viewed undercover before sale. Buyers can easily walk from the indoor arena along the concourse level to the sale ring or view stock in the undercroft pens only a few metres from where they are auctioned.
The bar and canteen on the concourse level are located at the sale ring end of the stadium. The upper level VIP section overlooks the sale ring. Large overhead screens will project the auction throughout the stadium and an information board will update buyers on sales figures during the auction.
Agents working in the sale centre will have access to a modern facility with Internet connection and an ample office area electronically linked to the sale rostrum. The sound and lighting systems are also provided.
Undercover cattle yards and stables feed into the sale centre so it’s a short walk to the ring. There are laneways for unled cattle and these feed into the undercroft area and an easy two-way feed into or from the ring for horses or stock. The sale ring itself is a flexible design allowing changes to accommodate different types of sale stock and animals.
The sale ring can also be used for educational purposes, large meetings or demonstrations, and it can be converted into a warm up or marshalling area for equine events.
