Hall of Fame and Heritage Gardens

The AELEC has been a vision for horse and cattle groups and societies for many years.  In reality it will showcase the champions of today and the heroes for future generations. The centre will also pay tribute to the thousands of horses and cattle and the people who have made a contribution to both industries.  The AELEC is also a place of remembrance – and it will allow the acknowledgement of significant contributions and special occasions - in the Heritage Gardens located at the centre.

The Heritage Gardens will have “Walks of Fame” where breed societies, equine sporting associations, private companies or groups who want to celebrate industry contributions can fund tributes. The paths and walkways will feature plaques or stones to mark those tributes. Individuals can also sponsor a tree – and plaques will mark those sponsorships too. The industry has seen some incredible and wonderful four-legged animals who can also be remembered this way.

Plans are also underway to have selected areas where statues and works of art  will be placed to celebrate special individuals who have played a major role in the history of cattle and horse industries.

There are also opportunities for corporate naming rights sponsorships for buildings and roads within the centre.

Fund raising will soon start to build the two wings of the stadium that will also be a part of the Hall of Fame.  One wing will be an exhibition space, where Hall of Fame memorabilia and equine and livestock heritage art or educational works will be displayed.  Books and information on Hall of Fame inductees, those who feature in the Heritage Gardens, various breed societies, equine sporting groups, great cattlemen and horsemen along with memorabilia and souvenirs, will be available in the centre retail shop.

Visitors to the AELEC can learn about leading role in animal breeding and husbandry past and present.  They will also be able to see today’s champions performing and in the same day, walk through the memories of past champions.

If you want to be a part of the Cattleman and Horseman Hall of Fame or Heritage Garden, contact the AELEC for more information. See Contact Us for more details.
